After two more weeks, a lot has still not happened. I began to work on my annotated bibliography assignment figuring that it would be better to get it done now then rush and get it done at the beginning of December. Brian had mentioned that he wanted the wildlife crew to exchange traps with a park biologist last Thursday, but i was all i ever herd about that, so i assume it will still need to get done sometime soon. I did take a quick day hike up to Humes Ranch a few miles up from Whiskey bend, the river was a bit high from all the rain but still mostly blue green color, not yet having reached its winter color of a constant sludge brown. Thats all for now!

september 24 - october 8
The first two weeks of REU have been more or less un-eventfull. The first week we thoughtfully listened to presentations from the leaders of the four different fields. Over the weekend i only breifly thought about what field I wanted to join, for out of fisheries, wildlife, hydrology, and microbiology, hydrology stood out. On monday we signed up for our fields, I was placed both in hydrology and biology. We then spent the rest of the day watching a video on the history of the elwha river and the conflicts involved. Hopefully within the next two weeks we will be able to go out in the field!?
